In the 18th minute, Emil Andriessen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Emil Andriessen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Andreas Maes was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Lochtenburg HC's Sipke Huisman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mathijs Eiting in the 22nd minute of play. If Emil Andriessen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Lochtenburg HC's Teun Weken got a free kick in the 31st minute. The Putten HC fans' excitement grew in the 33rd match minute when Putten HC's Mathijs Eiting looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Putten HC's Andreas Maes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emil Andriessen in the 42nd minute of play. When Putten HC's Lennart Bults in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lochtenburg HC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 47th match minute, Lochtenburg HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacobus Opdam to maneuver through the defense.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lennart Bults to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Jacobus Opdam hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emil Andriessen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andreas Maes having to interfere. Andreas Maes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emil Andriessen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Putten HC booed when Lochtenburg HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Okkes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lennart Bults kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. When Geert Brouwers fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Putten HC's protests and gave Geert Brouwers a yellow card for diving instead. After 72 played minutes Putten HC got a freekick which was hit by Geert Brouwers. If Emil Andriessen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andreas Maes came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Lochtenburg HC's Emil Andriessen. But to his dismay, Emil Andriessen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Rudi Adelaar struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Sipke Huisman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Putten HC. Marc Kuypers was shown his second yellow card after 94 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Putten HC's Marc Kuypers got a free kick in the 94th minute. 97 minutes had been played when some careless play by Putten HC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fabian Mueller was slow to take the kick. During this time Lochtenburg HC's players had a chance to rest. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Putten HC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
