Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gert van Kempen started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Gert van Rhijn ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dirk Jan Knol was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 7 minutes into the match, HOK-FZ's goal looked a bit too open when Henry Veenker came free, but Jef Pilage reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Franck van der Bij's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dirk Jan Knol was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Gert van Rhijn managed to get in a good position for a shot. HOK-FZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Gert van Rhijn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dirk Jan Knol breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, HOK-FZ's Jacobus van Kampen got a free kick in the 23rd minute. John Colen scored 1-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jef Pilage, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gert van Kempen in the 33rd minute of play forced HOK-FZ's goalkeeper Jef Pilage to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute Freek Vliet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dirk Jan Knol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Gert van Rhijn came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the HOK-FZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gert van Rhijn couldn't finish the play. HOK-FZ's Jef Pilage played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert Spijker in the 41st minute of play. Gert van Rhijn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Dirk Jan Knol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Franck van der Bij to strike the kick off in the second half. Gert van Rhijn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dirk Jan Knol having to interfere. Reinhard Lamberts's late challenge caught a HOK-FZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Reinhard Lamberts helped the player get up and apologised. In the 56th minute, Reinhard Lamberts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jef Pilage showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jos Roelofs in the 65th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the match, FC Heenvliet's goal looked a bit too open when Gert van Rhijn came free, but Dirk Jan Knol reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 94 played minutes HOK-FZ got a freekick which was hit by Gerwin Coopman. FC Heenvliet's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
