Godfried Kroon ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Oirlo VV's Steve Bos got control of the ball when Dries Helwig tried to sneak it across the goal line. Markvelde Eendracht's Hans den Hertogh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Auke Zeegelaar in the 18th minute of play. The supporters of Oirlo VV booed when Markvelde Eendracht was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerben Akkerman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute, Elroy Aalders hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Godfried Kroon might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Steve Bos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Matthijs Lodewijks's late challenge caught a Markvelde Eendracht's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matthijs Lodewijks helped the player get up and apologised. In the 45th minute, Matthijs Lodewijks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th match minute, Oirlo VV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martien Lodewijks to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Godfried Kroon to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Godfried Kroon in the 52nd minute of play forced Oirlo VV's goalkeeper Steve Bos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Dries Helwig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd minute, Ger Zorge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience cheered when Maurits Oorthuis's long shot passed Steve Bos's right side. It was 2-0, 64 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Godfried Kroon in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Steve Bos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Martien Lodewijks kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Dries Helwig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Steve Bos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Godfried Kroon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Steve Bos was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. After 80 minutes of play Oirlo VV's Jochem Struik was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 81st minute, Jochem Struik hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 84 minutes into the match, Oirlo VV's goal looked a bit too open when Dries Helwig came free, but Steve Bos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Steve Bos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Godfried Kroon in the 89th minute of the match. Godfried Kroon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Markvelde Eendracht's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
