In the 6th minute, Bertus Veninga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 7th minute, Kristof van Steensel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 8 minutes into the match, Bob de Jong notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Strooistad's Jelte Staal. Jelte Staal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 22nd match minute, Strooistad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramon Heulmann to maneuver through the defense. Bart Boon was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 29 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 29th minute of the game. One of Strooistad:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of VCZ:s goal. Strooistad:s Jelte Staal showed great skill when he stopped Ernst Bos:s penalty. The crowd rose to their feet as Tim Stellwagen kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jelte Talsma. That made the score 1-2 in the 33 minute of play. Strooistad's Tim Stellwagen got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With his leg Jelte Talsma managed to avoid a goal in the 41stth minute, when Strooistad's Tim Stellwagen fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Bertus Veninga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Domenik Lurling charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Domenik Lurling the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, VCZ's Domenik Lurling got a free kick in the 44th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The wind increased when Tim Stellwagen made the kick off in the second half. Tim Stellwagen might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jelte Talsma. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tim Stellwagen ran back to his position shaking his head. Ramon Heulmann might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jelte Talsma. Jelte Talsma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tim Stellwagen in the 63rd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Tim Stellwagen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jelte Talsma was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. In the 67th minute Tim Stellwagen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jelte Talsma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ramon Heulmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tim Stellwagen in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jelte Talsma saved VCZ from getting behind. When Strooistad's Tim Stellwagen in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye VCZ's goalie prevented a goal. Ramon Heulmann blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jelte Talsma having to make a save. Jelte Talsma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ramon Heulmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bertus Veninga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle went the supporters of VCZ were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Strooistad side.
