The VVS fans' excitement grew in the 28th match minute when VVS's Eddy Verweijen looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With his leg Henny van Zwam managed to avoid a goal in the 34thth minute, when VVS's Klaus Borgman fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Dennis van Hintum sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Henny van Zwam, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. Henny van Zwam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Klaus Borgman in the 57th minute of the match. Dennis van Hintum sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Belvert fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Henny van Zwam should have stopped the shot. 93 minutes into the game, VVS's Klaus Borgman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Henny van Zwam made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0.
