Lollum's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gert Mathijsen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gert Mathijsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Klaus Brinke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After taking down the ball on FC Ally Boys's corner Jan Savenije fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rien Weerman quite easily take care of the ball. Gert Mathijsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Klaus Brinke having to interfere. The supporters of FC Ally Boys booed when Lollum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remco Veenhuis didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Lollum's zone, Pim Molhoek stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rien Weerman came out of the goal and Pim Molhoek tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Demy Andriessen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 88 minutes into the match, FC Ally Boys's goalkeeper Klaus Brinke had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gert Mathijsen. If Pim Molhoek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Ally Boys's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
