When Roelof Oosterveld came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Wijlre fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roelof Oosterveld couldn't finish the play. After 35 played minutes, Wijlre's Geert Arend Overmars shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Klaus Brinke came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Wijlre reached it. If Pim Molhoek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Wijlre's zone, Michael Nieuwburg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean-Paul Adriaanse came out of the goal and Michael Nieuwburg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pim Molhoek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean-Paul Adriaanse having to interfere.

The wind increased when Roelof Oosterveld made the kick off in the second half. Michael Nieuwburg kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. 54 minutes into the match, FC Ally Boys's goalkeeper Klaus Brinke had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elmar Elders. Jean-Paul Adriaanse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Nieuwburg in the 62nd minute of play. FC Ally Boys's Klaus Brinke proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save FC Ally Boys from getting a goal against them. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Wijlre had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
