The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Seters SC's Jhon Ensing played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacco Geerds in the 3rd minute of play. Jacco Geerds fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jhon Ensing having to interfere. In the 6th minute, Brain Stuifzand got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 8 minutes, Jhon Ensing successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 16 minutes into the game, Jacco Geerds recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jhon Ensing. Jacco Geerds showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Brain Stuifzand sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jhon Ensing made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacco Geerds in the 21st minute of play. If Jacco Geerds had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacco Geerds might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jhon Ensing. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jacco Geerds ran back to his position shaking his head. Jhon Ensing was a little too slow when Jacco Geerds got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 32nd minute. The score was now 4-0. Taco Lindeman kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 38th minute, Taco Lindeman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Vincent van Persie fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Seters SC's protests and gave Vincent van Persie a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Seters SC's Vincent van Persie got a free kick in the 39th minute. After having played for 43 minutes, Jacco Geerds managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. VV SMITSHOEK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacco Geerds was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Seters SC's Jhon Ensing played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dirk Boekholt in the 44th minute of play. Brain Stuifzand received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Jhon Ensing tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

Jhon Ensing showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Taco Lindeman, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Seters SC's goalkeeper Jhon Ensing, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Brain Stuifzand fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jhon Ensing having to interfere. In the 80th minute Brain Stuifzand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jhon Ensing saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Jacco Geerds came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the VV SMITSHOEK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacco Geerds couldn't finish the play. In the 84thth minute of the game Jacco Geerds who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Seters SC's Jhon Ensing was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Seters SC defense, Jacco Geerds kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jhon Ensing. The Seters SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jhon Ensing should have stopped the shot. In the 91st minute Jacco Geerds shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jhon Ensing saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Vítor Paredes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. VV SMITSHOEK had played much better football throughout.
