Spectators: 6690 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1690, VIP seats: 0) Zutfen VV's Jim Bessing started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Zutfen VV's goalkeeper Toni Houwing had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ronald van Duuren. Jan Hendrik Beukenkamp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toni Houwing having to interfere. Rick Blank's late challenge caught a Dalem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rick Blank helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Zutfen VV's Rick Blank got a free kick in the 14th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jan Hendrik Beukenkamp in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Toni Houwing prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jim Bessing received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Mart Roelfs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jan Hendrik Beukenkamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 29 minutes into the match, Dalem's goal looked a bit too open when Jim Bessing came free, but Mart Roelfs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Zutfen VV's Simon van Dijk got a free kick in the 41st minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jan Hendrik Beukenkamp to strike the kick off in the second half. When Ronald van Duuren came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Dalem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ronald van Duuren couldn't finish the play. Zutfen VV's Toni Houwing played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Hendrik Beukenkamp in the 53rd minute of play. Rick Blank got his second yellow card in the match during the 54th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 55 played minutes Zutfen VV got a freekick which was hit by Rick Blank. Jan Hendrik Beukenkamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ralf Numan kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 75thth minute of the game Ronald van Duuren who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zutfen VV's Toni Houwing was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jan Hendrik Beukenkamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Toni Houwing made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Hendrik Beukenkamp in the 76th minute of play. Mart Roelfs made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bernard Konterman in the 79th minute. Geale Asselbergs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toni Houwing having to interfere. Ronald van Duuren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 85th minute of the match, Bernard Konterman got a very nice opportunity to score, but Mart Roelfs was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Mart Roelfs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jim Bessing in the 91st minute of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
