Emil Breinburg spun around in front of the goal 11 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of LSC 1890's goal. 12 minutes into the game, Roy Struik cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Bennie Griemink was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Roy Struik's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bennie Griemink was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Antoon Neijsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bennie Griemink having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Roy Struik in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bennie Griemink saved Ajax.FC from getting behind. Gerrit Molnar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bennie Griemink having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roy Struik to make the kick off. In the 79th match minute, Ajax.FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernard Veenker to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 94 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Roy Struik sped through Ajax.FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bennie Griemink. When the final whistle sounded LSC 1890 left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Ajax.FC.
