The Ajax.FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bennie Griemink should have stopped the shot. Antoon Wiersma was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Emil Breinburg showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 29 minute of play. In the 31st match minute, Schieven S.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robert Stuijvenberg to maneuver through the defense. If Kees Eising had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kees Eising received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Bennie Griemink tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan de Hondt in the 45th minute of play forced Ajax.FC's goalkeeper Bennie Griemink to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Marcel Andriessen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emil Breinburg to make the kick off. Marcel Andriessen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antoon Wiersma having to interfere. Emil Breinburg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
