Spectators: 6707 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1707, VIP seats: 0) Hengsdijk Excelsior's Dirk Rijaard started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Felix Beishuizen fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hengsdijk Excelsior's protests and gave Felix Beishuizen a yellow card for diving instead. After 2 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Hengsdijk Excelsior! Tomas Bult went to the wrong direction when Jurgen Pepping was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Hengsdijk Excelsior's Dirk Rijaard got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Klaas Klasens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Maarten Tellingen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ramon Winters sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hengsdijk Excelsior's Tomas Bult played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramon Winters in the 22nd minute of play. Maarten Tellingen made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Klaas Klasens sent off a good shot on target. 28 minutes into the match, Leemberg FC's goalkeeper Maarten Tellingen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Harald den Engelsman. Maarten Tellingen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dirk Rijaard in the 30th minute of the match. Maarten Tellingen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dirk Rijaard in the 38th minute of play. Ramon Winters recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Maarten Tellingen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dirk Rijaard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute, Ramon Winters left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Leemberg FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mark Stam to make the kick off. Dirk Rijaard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maarten Tellingen having to interfere. Dirk Rijaard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Klaas Klasens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 59th minute, Dirk Rijaard made a precise shot to the right of Maarten Tellingen. Leemberg FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Tomas Bult showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mark Stam, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Ramon Winters received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Tomas Bult tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mark Stam recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Mark Stam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Dirk Rijaard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Dirk Rijaard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Dirk Rijaard came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Hengsdijk Excelsior fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dirk Rijaard couldn't finish the play. Maarten Tellingen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dirk Rijaard in the 91st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Leemberg FC's Reinier Meier got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Ramon Winters sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Leemberg FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Hengsdijk Excelsior from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
