Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Herman Barels started the match with the kick off. The supporters of SVZ Zeijen booed when Maliskamp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joep Savenije didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Izaak Aalst had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Izaak Aalst's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rinus Roorda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. In the 16th minute, Izaak Aalst fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Izaak Aalst received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Rinus Roorda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the SVZ Zeijen defense, Jan Rein de Kort kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rogier Degens. The SVZ Zeijen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rogier Degens should have stopped the shot. In the 25th minute Herman Barels shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rinus Roorda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jan Rein de Kort sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Herman Barels kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rinus Roorda. That made the score 1-1 in the 35 minute of play. After 41 played minutes Herman Barels rounded Maliskamp's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-1. 45 minutes into the match, Maliskamp's goal looked a bit too open when Herman Barels came free, but Rinus Roorda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

53 minutes into the game, SVZ Zeijen's Herman Barels nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rinus Roorda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Ben Mathijsen struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Rogier Degens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maliskamp. After a rather tough play, SVZ Zeijen's Andreas Vrieze got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Rinus Roorda came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by SVZ Zeijen's Herman Barels. But to his dismay, Herman Barels quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. After 82 minutes, Elroy Kort mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SVZ Zeijen and the Maliskamp players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 82nd match minute, SVZ Zeijen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elroy Kort to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Izaak Aalst in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rinus Roorda saved Maliskamp from getting behind. A collision led to Maliskamp getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Joep Savenije hit a great ball. Rinus Roorda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herman Barels, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Iwan Boeve fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rinus Roorda having to interfere. Jan Rein de Kort sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rogier Degens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ben Mathijsen in the 94th minute of play. There was no doubt that SVZ Zeijen were the better team. SVZ Zeijen's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
