Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) FC Chelsea's Jochem Spiljard started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match had gone on for 4 minutes, Barry de Koning put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Tim de Vlieger. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jochem Spiljard in the 9th minute of play forced Rhenooi V.V.'s goalkeeper Tim de Vlieger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of FC Chelsea booed when Rhenooi V.V. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joost Rijkaard didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nigel Achterberg in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Robin Robinho saved FC Chelsea from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Rhenooi V.V.'s Joost Rijkaard got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After having played for 26 minutes, Gerard Zethof managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rhenooi V.V.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerard Zethof was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Robin Robinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nigel Achterberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Nigel Achterberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nigel Achterberg in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Robin Robinho saved FC Chelsea from getting behind.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nigel Achterberg to make the kick off. Roland Schepers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 66th minute, Nigel Achterberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 72 minutes into the game, Bart Daalmeyer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rhenooi V.V.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Chelsea the free kick. The supporters of FC Chelsea booed when Rhenooi V.V. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bart Daalmeyer didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75th minute of the match Tonnie van der Schaaf shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tim de Vlieger showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Robin Robinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roland Schepers in the 81st minute of play. Nigel Achterberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roland Schepers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robin Robinho having to interfere. Robin Robinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nigel Achterberg in the 92nd minute of play. Robin Robinho came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Rhenooi V.V.'s Nigel Achterberg. But to his dismay, Nigel Achterberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1.
