Spectators: 7507 (Terracing: 5631, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 150) Wise United FC's Rudolf Pluym started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dirk-Jan Barendregt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Folkert Geerdink in the 4th minute of play. In the 4th minute, Ed van Zwieten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Folkert Geerdink hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 8th minute Wise United FC were awarded a corner. Denny Aerts went to the cornerflag to take it. If Rudolf Pluym had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 12th minute Rudolf Pluym shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hette Kristoffers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wise United FC's Dirk-Jan Barendregt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karel Rieks in the 15th minute of play. Rudolf Pluym fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hette Kristoffers having to interfere. Dirk-Jan Barendregt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karel Rieks, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th minute Karel Rieks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dirk-Jan Barendregt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Karel Rieks had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dirk-Jan Barendregt. Wise United FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Karel Rieks was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 30 minutes into the match, Wise United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ed van Zwieten came free, but Dirk-Jan Barendregt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Harm Bense kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Rudolf Pluym struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Hette Kristoffers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wise United FC. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Ed van Zwieten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Dirk-Jan Barendregt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dirk-Jan Barendregt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karel Rieks, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Wise United FC's Dirk-Jan Barendregt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karel Rieks in the 62nd minute of play. Folkert Geerdink's late challenge caught a Wise United FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Folkert Geerdink helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Herkeloo getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Folkert Geerdink hit a great ball. A hard shot 71 in the game by Ed van Zwieten from a close distance when the talented Dirk-Jan Barendregt managed to make a qualified save. Wise United FC's players were relieved. After 72 played minutes Wise United FC got a freekick which was hit by Karsten Kruijs. 76 minutes into the match, Wise United FC's goalkeeper Dirk-Jan Barendregt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ed van Zwieten. Ed van Zwieten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Dirk-Jan Barendregt made a huge save. Karel Rieks fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dirk-Jan Barendregt having to interfere. If Rudolf Pluym had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ed van Zwieten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dirk-Jan Barendregt having to make a save. Karel Rieks received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Dirk-Jan Barendregt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Herkeloo had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
