Spectators: 6701 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1701, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Marcel Hovenkamp got the match started through his kick off. 7 minutes into the game, one of Egypte:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Ketel a penalty, 8 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Guus Huizinga, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Egypte's Wessel Wessel. 1-0. Wessel Wessel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bennie Ponk in the 11th minute of the match. In the 11th minute, Geert Harmannus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wessel Wessel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dave Bas in the 14th minute. Egypte's Wessel Wessel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bennie Ponk in the 15th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jan Meppelink in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rogier Hofman saved Ketel from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcel Hovenkamp in the 21st minute of play forced Ketel's goalkeeper Rogier Hofman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wessel Wessel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bennie Ponk in the 26th minute of play. Wessel Wessel made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Dave Bas sent off a good shot on target. Dave Bas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Wessel Wessel made a huge save. A collision led to Egypte getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Frederik Zwiers hit a great ball. In the 43rd minute, Dave Bas fired away a shot that was totally unreachable for Wessel Wessel. The ball ended up just outside the left post, and Ketel's manager could be seen angrily pacing the sidelines. Edgard Vroom hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

If Dave Bas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 53rd minute Dave Bas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wessel Wessel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcel Hovenkamp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Rogier Hofman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 58 minutes Ketel's goalkeeper Rogier Hofman managed, with a little bit of luck, save Simon Schutrups's penalty, on his right side after a tricky shot. In the 58th minute, Simon Schutrups reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rogier Hofman. The goal made the score 1-1. Jan Meppelink blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rogier Hofman having to make a save. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Marcel Hovenkamp put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Rogier Hofman. When Ferry Reitsma fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ketel's protests and gave Ferry Reitsma a yellow card for diving instead. In the 70th match minute, Ketel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ferry Reitsma to maneuver through the defense. Jan Meppelink in the 73rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rogier Hofman, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 75 played minutes Ketel got a freekick which was hit by Bart Gierman. 79 minutes into the match, Egypte's goal looked a bit too open when Bennie Ponk came free, but Wessel Wessel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Jan Meppelink had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edgard Vroom's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wessel Wessel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 98th minute of play. When the match was over Egypte could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ketel throughout the match.
