Spectators: 6723 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eddy Berendt started the match with the kick off. With a little luck, Malden's Kurt Siemers got control of the ball when Hans van Zalingen tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thijs Mueller in the 5th minute of play forced Renen SV's goalkeeper Melvin Numan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Eddy Berendt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Coenraad Blanker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Kurt Siemers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Coenraad Blanker in the 18th minute of play forced Malden's goalkeeper Kurt Siemers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Malden's zone, Coenraad Blanker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kurt Siemers came out of the goal and Coenraad Blanker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kurt Siemers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michael Kuis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 23 played minutes Renen SV got a freekick which was hit by Jeffrey Sneijder. Malden's Eddy Berendt managed to work through Renen SV's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Eddy Berendt dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 30th minute Eddy Berendt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melvin Numan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Michael Kuis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Kurt Siemers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thijs Mueller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jan Hendrik Denneboom charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jan Hendrik Denneboom the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Renen SV booed when Malden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan Hendrik Denneboom didn't get a good kick on the ball. 41 minutes into the match, Hette Scheepstra had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Melvin Numan. Renen SV's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hette Scheepstra was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 45 played minutes Renen SV got a freekick which was hit by Filip Degenkamp. Thijs Mueller struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Melvin Numan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Malden. The Renen SV players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Malden were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Coenraad Blanker was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Sjoerd Deuring was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Renen SV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Malden the free kick. 52 minutes into the game, one of Renen SV:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. If Thijs Mueller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute, Aad Cramer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kurt Siemers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Coenraad Blanker in the 70th minute of the match. Coenraad Blanker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 81st match minute, Malden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nico-Jan Wilhelm to maneuver through the defense. Michael Kuis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Kurt Siemers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Malden's Kurt Siemers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Kuis in the 86th minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Coenraad Blanker had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kurt Siemers. Malden's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Coenraad Blanker was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2.
