Henny van der Schaaf could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Coos Dolfing made a huge save. 12 minutes into the game, Sjors de Vogt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. fc pieter's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Legends the free kick. A collision led to fc pieter getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Sjors de Vogt hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Vincent Boschker managed to get in a good position for a shot. Legends's supporters rose to their feet, but Vincent Boschker was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Coos Dolfing breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Legends's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sjoerd Snoeks was slow to take the kick. During this time fc pieter's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Sjoerd Snoeks got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Marick Zoontjens quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 29thth minute of the game Joep Lurling who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Legends's Marick Zoontjens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Joep Lurling received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Marick Zoontjens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Legends's zone, Demy Dorenbosch stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marick Zoontjens came out of the goal and Demy Dorenbosch tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 36th minute, Frans Kuijsten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in fc pieter's zone, Henny van der Schaaf stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Coos Dolfing came out of the goal and Henny van der Schaaf tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 38 played minutes fc pieter got a freekick which was hit by Sjors de Vogt. Kenneth Daalmeyer's late challenge caught a fc pieter's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kenneth Daalmeyer helped the player get up and apologised. fc pieter's Coos Dolfing proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save fc pieter from getting a goal against them. Marick Zoontjens didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joep Lurling went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joep Lurling stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ralph Hebert might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Coos Dolfing. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ralph Hebert ran back to his position shaking his head. Coos Dolfing made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vincent Boschker in the 58th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Demy Dorenbosch during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 72 minutes Legends's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sjoerd Snoeks who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on fc pieter's corner Jos Idelberger fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marick Zoontjens quite easily take care of the ball. Tommie Ottens charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tommie Ottens the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of fc pieter booed when Legends was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tommie Ottens didn't get a good kick on the ball. fc pieter's Sjoerd Snoeks shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 75th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Marick Zoontjens but with some difficulty. Ralph Hebert scored 2-1 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Coos Dolfing, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to fc pieter getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Sjoerd Snoeks hit a great ball. In the 87th minute, Tommie Ottens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joep Lurling sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Harris Nijsse during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 94th match minute, Legends was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harris Nijsse to maneuver through the defense. An unexpected shot in the 96th minute by Demy Dorenbosch got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Demy Dorenbosch could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 98th minute of the match, but Marick Zoontjens made a huge save.
