Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Slikkendam's Lex Aerssen started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bill Scholten in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilco Nelissen saved Slikkendam from getting behind. Bill Scholten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Wilco Nelissen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lievelde's Stephan Paauwe got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lex Aerssen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Henk Tuhuteru made a huge save. Slikkendam's Wilco Nelissen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bill Scholten in the 11th minute of play. Bill Scholten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Wilco Nelissen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Henk Tuhuteru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lex Aerssen in the 23rd minute of play. After having played for 25 minutes, Bas van Rhijn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Slikkendam's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bas van Rhijn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lievelde's supporters rose to their feet, but Stephan Paauwe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilco Nelissen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lex Aerssen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henk Tuhuteru having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stephan Paauwe stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Arne van Hintum hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. 53 minutes into the game, Anton Engelaar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lievelde's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Slikkendam the free kick. In the 53rd match minute, Lievelde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anton Engelaar to maneuver through the defense. Floris Höhenstein, 54 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 79th minute, Bas van Rhijn got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Slikkendam's Bas van Rhijn got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 87 minutes into the match, Lievelde's goal looked a bit too open when Bas van Rhijn came free, but Henk Tuhuteru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bas van Rhijn in the 91st minute of play forced Lievelde's goalkeeper Henk Tuhuteru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Henk Tuhuteru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lex Aerssen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 94 minutes into the match, Slikkendam's Bas van Rhijn sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Henk Tuhuteru narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 95th minute, Stephan Paauwe fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Slikkendam's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
