Marinus Wielaert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ralf Baalen having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, Vossendaal's goal looked a bit too open when Marick Karelse came free, but Hans Sybering reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hans Sybering showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marick Karelse, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. After a rather tough play, Vossendaal's Marinus Wielaert got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 23rd minute, Marinus Wielaert ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ralf Baalen was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Marinus Wielaert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Ralf Baalen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 29th minute Marinus Wielaert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ralf Baalen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gert Zonneveld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marick Karelse in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hans Sybering saved Vossendaal from getting behind. Henk-Jan Veentjer kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Marick Karelse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hans Sybering having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Gert Zonneveld might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hans Sybering. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gert Zonneveld ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Varsel getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Henk Jaliens hit a great ball. After 70 minutes of play, Varsel's Gert Zonneveld made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hans Sybering was left in no man's land by his defense there! Auke Hoekstra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Ralf Baalen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jacco Wekenburg's late challenge caught a Varsel's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacco Wekenburg helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Vossendaal's Jacco Wekenburg got a free kick in the 80th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gerwin Mos during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gerwin Mos hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Hans Sybering made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gert Zonneveld in the 97th minute of play. The Vossendaal players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Varsel from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
