Henk Otten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 8 played minutes Uitwijk got a freekick which was hit by Sjors Schophuis. Dries Bont kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Niels Wagemakers's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Henk Otten was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Wieckerhoes United defense, Joop Eschendaal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Henk Otten. The Wieckerhoes United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Henk Otten should have stopped the shot. Giel Hostede recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joop Eschendaal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henk Otten having to interfere. Henk Otten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niels Wagemakers in the 35th minute of play. A collision led to Wieckerhoes United getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Giel Hostede hit a great ball. Giel Hostede's late challenge caught a Uitwijk's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Giel Hostede helped the player get up and apologised. After 39 played minutes Wieckerhoes United got a freekick which was hit by Giel Hostede. Joop Eschendaal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henk Otten having to interfere. 46 minutes into the game, Koen Aelbrecht was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Uitwijk's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wieckerhoes United the free kick. A collision led to Uitwijk getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Koen Aelbrecht hit a great ball. After 47 minutes, Dries Bont mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wieckerhoes United and the Uitwijk players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 47 played minutes Wieckerhoes United got a freekick which was hit by Dries Bont. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The crowd rose to their feet as Uitwijk's Joop Eschendaal slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Henk Otten. That made the score 1-2 after 53 minutes of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joop Eschendaal in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Henk Otten saved Wieckerhoes United from getting behind. In the 60th minute, Koen Aelbrecht hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Giel Hostede kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the match, Niels Wagemakers had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Henk Otten. Wieckerhoes United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Niels Wagemakers was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. In the 73rd minute, Niels Wagemakers left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Uitwijk fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. With a little luck, Wieckerhoes United's Henk Otten got control of the ball when Niels Wagemakers tried to sneak it across the goal line. Niels Wagemakers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henk Otten having to interfere. If Niels Wagemakers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd match minute, Wieckerhoes United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dries Bont to maneuver through the defense. Henk Otten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joop Eschendaal in the 86th minute of play. Uitwijk's Koen Aelbrecht got his second yellow card of the match in the 87th minute. The referee ordered Koen Aelbrecht off the ground. After 87 played minutes Uitwijk got a freekick which was hit by Koen Aelbrecht. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Niels Wagemakers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uitwijk's supporters rose to their feet, but Niels Wagemakers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henk Otten breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Niels Wagemakers struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Henk Otten didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uitwijk. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Uitwijk eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
