Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Pieter Jol kicked off to start the match. Boudewijn Waidijk charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Boudewijn Waidijk the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Wateregge booed when Averreest VV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boudewijn Waidijk didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernando de Zeeuw was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Arjen Rodenberg showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. Wateregge's attack was well implemented in the 9th minute, but when Martien Ijspol was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. When Arjen Rodenberg came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Averreest VV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arjen Rodenberg couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Arjen Rodenberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fernando de Zeeuw was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Averreest VV's Kurt Zoontjens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pieter Jol in the 23rd minute of play. Wateregge's Simon Need suffered a concussion after 24 minutes and had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nathan Riemers during the 24th minute. Lucas Davids's late challenge caught a Averreest VV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lucas Davids helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Wateregge's Lucas Davids got a free kick in the 29th minute. With a little luck, Wateregge's Fernando de Zeeuw got control of the ball when Sander Trenning tried to sneak it across the goal line. 32 minutes into the game, Martien Ijspol cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Kurt Zoontjens was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kurt Zoontjens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martien Ijspol, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 37 minutes into the game, Wateregge's Dick Meindert nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kurt Zoontjens made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Robbie Lans during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 40 played minutes Averreest VV got a freekick which was hit by Robbie Lans. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Averreest VV's goalkeeper Kurt Zoontjens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Averreest VV's Robbie Lans got a free kick in the 45th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arjen Rodenberg to make the kick off. With a little luck, Averreest VV's Kurt Zoontjens got control of the ball when Martien Ijspol tried to sneak it across the goal line. Martien Ijspol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Kurt Zoontjens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68thth minute of the game Martien Ijspol who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Averreest VV's Kurt Zoontjens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Dick Meindert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Martien Ijspol recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Andreas Vorenkamp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kurt Zoontjens having to interfere. Martien Ijspol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kurt Zoontjens made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Demy Roelofs sent off a good shot on target. Martien Ijspol blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kurt Zoontjens having to make a save. Dick Meindert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Kurt Zoontjens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
