Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Willem Kinear started the match with the kick off. Frank Craandijk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pieter-Jan Busch having to interfere. When Donkervliet's Anthony Zegeling in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ajax FC's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Ajax FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Ben Nieuwburg hit a great ball. Anthony Zegeling took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pieter-Jan Busch. Pieter-Jan Busch dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anthony Zegeling in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pieter-Jan Busch saved Ajax FC from getting behind. If Anthony Zegeling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26th minute Frank Craandijk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pieter-Jan Busch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Anthony Zegeling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Ajax FC's zone, Anthony Zegeling stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pieter-Jan Busch came out of the goal and Anthony Zegeling tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lennart Mulder kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Donkervliet's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Damien Opdam in the 33rd minute. After 33 played minutes Donkervliet got a freekick which was hit by Anthony Zegeling. Frank Craandijk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 51st minute, Anthony Zegeling got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ajax FC's Pieter-Jan Busch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anthony Zegeling in the 53rd minute of play. Anthony Zegeling let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 55th minute shot 1-2 at rihgt post. After a rather tough play, Donkervliet's Mathias Caluwé got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Gido Vroom didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Willem Kinear went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Pieter-Jan Busch stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anthony Zegeling's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. When Donkervliet's Anthony Zegeling in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ajax FC's goalie prevented a goal. 72 minutes into the match, Donkervliet's Frank Craandijk sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pieter-Jan Busch narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lennart Mulder during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After having played for 78 minutes, Frank Craandijk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Donkervliet's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Craandijk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 79th minute, Anthony Zegeling reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Pieter-Jan Busch. The goal made the score 2-3. In the 82nd match minute, Donkervliet was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mark Wesveld to maneuver through the defense. Gido Vroom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willem Kinear in the 83rd minute of play. If Frank Craandijk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pieter-Jan Busch stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anthony Zegeling's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. If Frank Craandijk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donkervliet played a much better game than Ajax FC and deserved their victory. The Ajax FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
