Donkervliet's Gido Vroom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sjoerd Zevenberg in the 17th minute of play. If Anthony Zegeling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Coniunctis Viribus's goalkeeper Martin Hoving, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anthony Zegeling was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Anthony Zegeling's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Martin Hoving was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Frank Craandijk managed to get in a good position for a shot. Donkervliet's supporters rose to their feet, but Frank Craandijk was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martin Hoving breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 75 minutes into the match, Donkervliet's goalkeeper Gido Vroom had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ferdinant de Groot. Gido Vroom made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ferdinant de Groot in the 77th minute. Max Huiting made a great header on Coniunctis Viribus's corner, it was just that Donkervliet's Gido Vroom managed to reach the ball for a save. After a defensive mix-up in Donkervliet's zone, Ferdinant de Groot stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anthony Zegeling in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Martin Hoving saved Coniunctis Viribus from getting behind. Sjoerd Zevenberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Donkervliet's Gido Vroom proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Donkervliet from getting a goal against them. For all the effort they put into the match, the Coniunctis Viribus players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Donkervliet.
