That made the score 1-0 after 4 minutes of play. 12 minutes into the game, Gerald Spannenburg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Jurjen Schoenmakers was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jurjen Schoenmakers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerald Spannenburg in the 14th minute of play. Yorrick Stevens made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Henny Meulenbergh sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Meerzicht booed when Altena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abraham Theissen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Theo Aalst struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Jurjen Schoenmakers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Meerzicht. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vincent Roeles in the 30th minute of play forced Altena's goalkeeper Jurjen Schoenmakers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Altena's Henny Meulenbergh in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Meerzicht's Gerald Spannenburg pulled a muscle in his leg after 52 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 52 minutes, Marcus Bults mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Altena and the Meerzicht players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 53rd match minute, Altena was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcus Bults to maneuver through the defense. Theo Aalst took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 53rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jurjen Schoenmakers. Yorrick Stevens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Henny Meulenbergh struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Altena's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abraham Theissen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yorrick Stevens made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Altena's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
