Jelle van Bommel's late challenge caught a Feniks Zuidhorn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jelle van Bommel helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Archem getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Jelle van Bommel hit a great ball. In the 21st minute, Frits Evenhuis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Philip van Wonderen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reinhard Arends in the 24th minute of play. If Frits Evenhuis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Philip van Wonderen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frits Evenhuis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute Reinhard Arends shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Philip van Wonderen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Adriaan Ierlandt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emile Naaijer was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. When Mitchell Ijkwezen fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Archem's protests and gave Mitchell Ijkwezen a yellow card for diving instead. Mitchell Ijkwezen hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reinhard Arends in the 47th minute of play forced Feniks Zuidhorn's goalkeeper Philip van Wonderen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Karel Holthuis hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arjan Cramer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 62nd minute Mitchell Ijkwezen suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Steve van der Doelen's late challenge caught a Archem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Archem's Emile Naaijer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arjan Cramer in the 67th minute of play. Adriaan Ierlandt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Emile Naaijer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emile Naaijer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arjan Cramer, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 77th minute, Arjan Cramer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 79 minutes into the match, Archem's goal looked a bit too open when Adriaan Ierlandt came free, but Emile Naaijer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
