He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ermerveen Excelsior reached it. After 12 minutes of play, Ermerveen Excelsior's Ronald Kinear made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jorn Middeljans was left in no man's land by his defense there! Wesley Pool fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tonnie Hendriks having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kees Barends in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jorn Middeljans saved Raren SV from getting behind. 24 minutes into the match, Ermerveen Excelsior's Kees Barends sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jorn Middeljans narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wesley Pool in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tonnie Hendriks prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 29 minutes into the match, Ermerveen Excelsior's Ronald Kinear sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jorn Middeljans narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Raren SV's Benjamin Poelman got a free kick in the 30th minute. 31 minutes into the game, Kees Barends was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ermerveen Excelsior's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Raren SV the free kick. In the 31st minute, Kees Barends hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tonnie Hendriks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kelvin Overdiep, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rein Wijkstra during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ermerveen Excelsior's Rein Wijkstra got a free kick in the 38th minute. Ronald Kinear fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorn Middeljans having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Jurjen Dijken hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kelvin Overdiep received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Tonnie Hendriks tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kees Barends made a kick off. Rein Wijkstra got his second yellow card in the match during the 55th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Ermerveen Excelsior getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Rein Wijkstra hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Wesley Pool managed to get in a good position for a shot. Raren SV's supporters rose to their feet, but Wesley Pool was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tonnie Hendriks breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kelvin Overdiep struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Tonnie Hendriks didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Raren SV. Kelvin Overdiep fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tonnie Hendriks having to interfere. Rogier Ihselmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorn Middeljans having to interfere. 70 minutes into the match, Raren SV's goal looked a bit too open when Ronald Kinear came free, but Jorn Middeljans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Benjamin Poelman fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Raren SV's protests and gave Benjamin Poelman a yellow card for diving instead. In the 71st match minute, Raren SV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamin Poelman to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute of the match, Wesley Pool tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tonnie Hendriks saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ermerveen Excelsior's defense didn't have a chance, in the 89th minute, when Wesley Pool scored to the left of an out of position Tonnie Hendriks, making the score, 1-1. In the 97th minute Raren SV were awarded a corner. Florian Schaars went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Florian Schaars almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ermerveen Excelsior's Tonnie Hendriks did a great save. A hard and well directed shot from Florian Schaars led 98 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Ermerveen Excelsior's Tonnie Hendriks became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 1-2. The Raren SV supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Raren SV would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
