Spectators: 7057 (Terracing: 5200, Seating: 1709, VIP seats: 148) GeenStijl FC's Joeri Gasteren started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Veenebrugge's Mickael Krommert got a free kick in the 3rd minute. 10 minutes into the game, Mickael Krommert was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Veenebrugge's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GeenStijl FC the free kick. In the 10th minute, Mickael Krommert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joeri Gasteren in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gijs Onrust saved Veenebrugge from getting behind. Jan Spanjer hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tommie Hof during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Berend Wegman hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Lucien de Graaf's late challenge caught a GeenStijl FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lucien de Graaf helped the player get up and apologised. In the 26th match minute, Veenebrugge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucien de Graaf to maneuver through the defense. Joeri Gasteren blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gijs Onrust having to make a save. The supporters of Veenebrugge booed when GeenStijl FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mike Saarloos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Klaas van Zeijl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 43rd minute Klaas van Zeijl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diderik Halen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Klaas van Zeijl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diderik Halen having to interfere. Diderik Halen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ferdi Sluis in the 49th minute. In the 51st minute of the match Veenebrugge got a corner. GeenStijl FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Teun Wijnands ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Jacobus Heuvel heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Klaas van Zeijl was the one to do the kick off. Klaas van Zeijl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diderik Halen having to interfere. If Ferdi Sluis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diderik Halen came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Veenebrugge's Klaas van Zeijl. But to his dismay, Klaas van Zeijl quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Joeri Gasteren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 70 minutes into the game, Jan Geers was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Veenebrugge's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GeenStijl FC the free kick. When Ferdi Sluis came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Veenebrugge fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ferdi Sluis couldn't finish the play. If Klaas van Zeijl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th match minute, GeenStijl FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anthony Kikkert to maneuver through the defense. 81 minutes into the match, Ferdi Sluis notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of GeenStijl FC's Diderik Halen. Diderik Halen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Joeri Gasteren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gijs Onrust took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joeri Gasteren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gijs Onrust made an important save on a dangerous shot by Harris Harmannus in the 99th minute.
