Spectators: 7372 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) Thomas Teesing started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 2 minutes into the match, Flieren SC's goal looked a bit too open when Philip Lanting came free, but Arjen van der Gun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 7 minutes into the match, Stryp's goalkeeper Berry Theissen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Koos Crans. A collision led to Flieren SC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Ton Rueda hit a great ball. 18 minutes into the match, Flieren SC's goal looked a bit too open when Cobus Stubbe came free, but Arjen van der Gun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Elmar Wolf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomas Teesing sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Thomas Teesing came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Flieren SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thomas Teesing couldn't finish the play. Cobus Stubbe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arjen van der Gun having to interfere. Arjen van der Gun stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Philip Lanting's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Stryp's Cobus Stubbe got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 37 minutes, Philip Lanting managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stryp's supporters crossed their fingers, but Philip Lanting was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Cobus Stubbe came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Stryp fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cobus Stubbe couldn't finish the play. Arjen van der Gun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cobus Stubbe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 46 played minutes Flieren SC got a freekick which was hit by Koos Hendriks. Philip Lanting recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cobus Stubbe made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Billy van der Werff hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stryp's Simon Stuifzand shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 54th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Arjen van der Gun but with some difficulty. In the 56th match minute, Stryp was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elmar Wolf to maneuver through the defense. Koos Crans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Berry Theissen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 69th minute Cobus Stubbe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arjen van der Gun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cobus Stubbe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arjen van der Gun having to interfere. When Thomas Teesing came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Flieren SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thomas Teesing couldn't finish the play. Berry Theissen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomas Teesing, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cobus Stubbe in the 87th minute of play forced Flieren SC's goalkeeper Arjen van der Gun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 89 played minutes Cobus Stubbe rounded Flieren SC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-1. Philip Lanting fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arjen van der Gun having to interfere.
