Seating: 1701, VIP seats: 147) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Werner Gerrits got the match started through his kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Neerdorp's goalkeeper Wessel Witting had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vincent Kauffeld. Werner Gerrits sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vincent Kauffeld got free with Wessel Witting in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Wessel Witting showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Werner Gerrits, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After having played for 30 minutes, Vincent Kauffeld managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Doornakkers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vincent Kauffeld was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wessel Witting took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Werner Gerrits, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Franck Boschker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marnix Tonnis having to interfere. Anton Tollenaar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vincent Kauffeld sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kurt Nieuwendijk's late challenge caught a Doornakkers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kurt Nieuwendijk helped the player get up and apologised. Kurt Nieuwendijk hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute, Doornakkers's Werner Gerrits dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anton Tollenaar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Vincent Kauffeld came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Doornakkers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vincent Kauffeld couldn't finish the play. Werner Gerrits received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Wessel Witting tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anton Tollenaar hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. After 56 played minutes, Doornakkers's Billy Rutgers shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Wessel Witting came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Doornakkers reached it. Werner Gerrits fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wessel Witting having to interfere. Vincent Kauffeld sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kurt Nieuwendijk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 72nd minute Werner Gerrits shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wessel Witting saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vincent Kauffeld fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wessel Witting having to interfere. Wessel Witting showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vincent Kauffeld in the 76th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Vincent Kauffeld's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wessel Witting was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Neerdorp's Franck Boschker got a free kick in the 79th minute. Vincent Kauffeld blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wessel Witting having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Doornakkers's zone, Kurt Nieuwendijk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marnix Tonnis came out of the goal and Kurt Nieuwendijk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anton Tollenaar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Doornakkers's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
