Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) When Taco Willemse came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Gietersebrug fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Taco Willemse couldn't finish the play. Steve Huisingh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Taco Willemse, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Gerard Knops fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Reiling having to interfere. Baambrugge's Steve Huisingh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Taco Willemse in the 16th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Gietersebrug's zone, Kristian Abbekerk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benjamin Reiling came out of the goal and Kristian Abbekerk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gietersebrug's Benjamin Reiling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerard Knops in the 21st minute of play. Steve Huisingh stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Taco Willemse's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute, Folker Sijmonds got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Steve Huisingh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gert de Freitas, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gerard Knops made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kristian Abbekerk in the 51st minute of play forced Gietersebrug's goalkeeper Benjamin Reiling to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Baambrugge's goal looked a bit too open when Gert de Freitas came free, but Steve Huisingh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benjamin Reiling stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kristian Abbekerk's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Hans Strobos hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Baambrugge's Douwe Heikens couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 69th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Gietersebrug. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Gert de Freitas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gietersebrug's supporters rose to their feet, but Gert de Freitas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Steve Huisingh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kristian Abbekerk in the 77th minute of play forced Gietersebrug's goalkeeper Benjamin Reiling to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Steve Huisingh made an important save on a dangerous shot by Taco Willemse in the 91st minute. Gert de Freitas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gietersebrug's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
