In the 4th match minute, Itens FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jasper Veen to maneuver through the defense. Fernando Alberda made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Martijn Lucius sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Martijn Lucius got free with Fernando Alberda in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 11 minutes, Martijn Lucius managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grolloo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martijn Lucius was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Martijn Bakker came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Itens FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martijn Bakker couldn't finish the play. Fernando Alberda made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Martijn Lucius sent off a good shot on target. After 30 minutes, Andreas Ottenhof mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itens FC and the Grolloo players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Itens FC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Andreas Ottenhof hit a great ball. Martijn Lucius could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Fernando Alberda made a huge save. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Itens FC's goalkeeper Fernando Alberda, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emil Heuvel in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fernando Alberda saved Itens FC from getting behind.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emil Heuvel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Martijn Bakker scored 0-1 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Japke Ottens, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 67th minute Martijn Bakker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Japke Ottens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 71 minutes, Martijn Lucius made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Itens FC's Fernando Alberda tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Martijn Bakker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Japke Ottens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martijn Bakker, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Ronny Kimman kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Fernando Alberda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martijn Lucius in the 90th minute of the match. Riemer Middeljans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Japke Ottens having to interfere. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
