Werner Poels took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alwin Reinders, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 38 played minutes Kippenpootjes got a freekick which was hit by Arie Schutrups. Thomas van Rhijn struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Werner Poels didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Blokzijl. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alwin Reinders stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Taco Hilbrands made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfred Molenaar in the 53rd minute of play. After 60 played minutes Kippenpootjes got a freekick which was hit by Luc Boschker. The Kippenpootjes fans' excitement grew in the 62nd match minute when Kippenpootjes's Alfred Molenaar looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With a little luck, Kippenpootjes's Werner Poels got control of the ball when Antoon Hoiting tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Antoon Hoiting came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Blokzijl fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antoon Hoiting couldn't finish the play. After 77 minutes, Alfred Molenaar made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Blokzijl's Taco Hilbrands tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Alfred Molenaar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Taco Hilbrands was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. In the 88th match minute, Kippenpootjes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfred Molenaar to maneuver through the defense. In the 95thth minute of the game Alfred Molenaar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Blokzijl's Taco Hilbrands was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
