The nice shot from Oscar Ottenhof in the 8thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Niek Sligter had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Niek Sligter made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Oscar Ottenhof sent off a good shot on target. VC Platypus's Niek Sligter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Ottenhof in the 12th minute of play. After having played for 13 minutes, Oscar Ottenhof managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFC tygoat's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oscar Ottenhof was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to VC Platypus getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Jurjen Sterenberg hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Youri Schuurmans during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jan Cales hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Mathieu Oude Kamphuis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Jean-Paul Gerfen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Niek Sligter acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 32nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Timmie Daems. A collision led to VC Platypus getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Jurjen Sterenberg hit a great ball. Joost Baars recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joost Baars in the 36th minute of play forced VC Platypus's goalkeeper Niek Sligter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jean-Paul Gerfen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mathieu Oude Kamphuis's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. In the 43rd minute of the game Timmie Daems made a throw-in which Folkert Schoenmakers played forward. In the 45th minute of the match, Youri Schuurmans tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Niek Sligter saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 46 minutes into the match, VC Platypus's goalkeeper Niek Sligter had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Oscar Ottenhof. Joost Baars's late challenge caught a VC Platypus's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joost Baars helped the player get up and apologised. In the 48th match minute, AFC tygoat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joost Baars to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Youri Schuurmans scored 2-0 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Niek Sligter, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Niek Sligter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Ottenhof in the 56th minute of play. In the 59th minute, Mathijs van Dalfsen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to AFC tygoat getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Joost Baars hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 68 minutes, Jean-Paul Gerfen successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 70th match minute, AFC tygoat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Youri Schuurmans to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of VC Platypus booed when AFC tygoat was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joost Baars didn't get a good kick on the ball. VC Platypus's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jan Cales in the 78th minute. The corner ended in Jan Cales almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but AFC tygoat's Jean-Paul Gerfen did a great save. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind AFC tygoat's goalkeeper Jean-Paul Gerfen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 80th minute, Mart Popken ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jean-Paul Gerfen was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Jan Cales's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jean-Paul Gerfen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. AFC tygoat's Jean-Paul Gerfen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save AFC tygoat from getting a goal against them. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind AFC tygoat's goalkeeper Jean-Paul Gerfen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 92nd match minute, AFC tygoat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilbert de Jager to maneuver through the defense. 97 minutes into the game, Leon Pool was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VC Platypus's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AFC tygoat the free kick. The supporters of AFC tygoat booed when VC Platypus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leon Pool didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Oscar Ottenhof came up free with the goalie in the 99th minute, the AFC tygoat fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oscar Ottenhof couldn't finish the play.
