Dolf Weerd was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tonnelkreek's Herman Lambers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Tonnelkreek from getting a goal against them. After 26 minutes of play Tonnelkreek's Lucien Lubbers was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Jurre Doren was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 34th minute. Invincibles's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Chris Ruiter struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Herman Lambers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Invincibles. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Kristian Krol made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jurre Doren in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Herman Lambers saved Tonnelkreek from getting behind. Jean-Paul Bronkhorst's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Herman Lambers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chris Ruiter during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Herman Lambers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 95th match minute, Tonnelkreek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henry Buys to maneuver through the defense. Invincibles were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
