In the 4th minute Theo Lyesen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henk Hoven saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 7th minute of the match Ralph van Wonderen sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Henk Hoven skillfully saved the ball. Gido Langenbach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zwartendijk Eendracht's Arne van Baarle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herbert Muskee in the 13th minute of play. The Zwartendijk Eendracht fans' excitement grew in the 15th match minute when Zwartendijk Eendracht's Theo Lyesen looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 22 minutes into the game, Zwartendijk Eendracht's Theo Lyesen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Henk Hoven made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 27th match minute, Zwartendijk Eendracht was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harry Timmerman to maneuver through the defense. Nico Klinkhamer hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Henk Hoven made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Theo Lyesen in the 32nd minute of play. If Gido Langenbach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 34 minutes into the match, Zwartendijk Eendracht's Theo Lyesen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Henk Hoven narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Theo Lyesen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Koen Kauffeld received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Henk Hoven tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arne van Baarle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herbert Muskee, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. If Koen Kauffeld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Theo Lyesen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Zwartendijk Eendracht were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Theo Lyesen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zwartendijk Eendracht's supporters rose to their feet, but Theo Lyesen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henk Hoven breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arne van Baarle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harm Kuypers in the 55th minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, Westrik's goalkeeper Henk Hoven had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Theo Lyesen. In the 57th minute, Herbert Muskee ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arne van Baarle was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Theo Lyesen in the 65thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Henk Hoven, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gido Langenbach in the 66th minute of play forced Westrik's goalkeeper Henk Hoven to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Koen Kauffeld sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72ndth minute of the game Theo Lyesen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Westrik's Henk Hoven was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 77th minute, Harm Kuypers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arne van Baarle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herbert Muskee, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Zwartendijk Eendracht's Theo Lyesen got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Theo Lyesen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henk Hoven having to interfere. Arne van Baarle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herbert Muskee in the 87th minute of play. Henk Hoven showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Theo Lyesen in the 91st minute of the match. Theo Lyesen struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Henk Hoven didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zwartendijk Eendracht.
