An unexpectedly hard shot by Herman van der Struijk in the 15th minute of play forced Ajaks Kwidzyn's goalkeeper Christiaan Hilkes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ajaks Kwidzyn's zone, Govert Zwiers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christiaan Hilkes came out of the goal and Govert Zwiers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 31 minutes, Ate van Zalen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Evelines and the Ajaks Kwidzyn players grew even worse after the yellow card. FC Evelines's defense didn't have a chance, in the 40th minute, when Marcel Baars scored to the left of an out of position Bjorn Blanc, making the score, 1-1. The supporters of FC Evelines booed when Ajaks Kwidzyn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niels Meinders didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ajaks Kwidzyn's zone, Govert Zwiers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christiaan Hilkes came out of the goal and Govert Zwiers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcel Baars was the one to do the kick off. Niels Meinders received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Bjorn Blanc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 55th minute Wilco Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bjorn Blanc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Niels Meinders struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Bjorn Blanc didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ajaks Kwidzyn. Bjorn Blanc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcel Baars, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pieter-Jan Willemsen charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pieter-Jan Willemsen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The audience was convinced that Herman van der Struijk's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Christiaan Hilkes was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Marcel Baars blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bjorn Blanc having to make a save. After recieving a nice pass, FC Evelines's Marick Sligter tried to score from far away in the 80th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Marcel Baars sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Marcel Baars recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christiaan Hilkes was out of position in the 98 minute of play, and Herman van der Struijk capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Herman van der Struijk really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. The Ajaks Kwidzyn manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing FC Evelines to win.
