After 6 minutes of play, Maarsen's Arnout de Zeeuw made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arjen Hoeksma was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 14th minute Bert Pluijm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martijn Zeijlemaker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bert Pluijm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martijn Zeijlemaker having to interfere. In the 19th match minute, Maarsen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricky Kok to maneuver through the defense. Flevowijk RKSV's Bert Pluijm got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jan Clarijs got free with Martijn Zeijlemaker in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bert Pluijm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Martijn Zeijlemaker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arnout de Zeeuw sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bert Pluijm succeeded in the game's 35th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. 42 minutes into the game, Bert Pluijm recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Martijn Zeijlemaker. Bert Pluijm showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. The supporters of Flevowijk RKSV booed when Maarsen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerard van der Linden didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bert Pluijm stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Jean-Paul Paas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bert Pluijm recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 65 minutes into the game, one of Flevowijk RKSV:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 70th minute, Jan Clarijs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jan Clarijs scored 3-2 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Martijn Zeijlemaker, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jan Clarijs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maarsen's Martijn Zeijlemaker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bert Pluijm in the 80th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 84 minutes, Arjen Hoeksma successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In a very dangerous position, a player in Flevowijk RKSV fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 85th minute. Penalty! Jan Clarijs took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Martijn Zeijlemaker. Martijn Zeijlemaker dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-3. If Jan Clarijs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Steve Aelbrecht had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Danny Hulshof took the ball and in the 101 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Martijn Zeijlemaker. Martijn Zeijlemaker dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-3. Flevowijk RKSV's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
