In the 3rd minute, one of Meliestraat SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Meliestraat SC. In the 7th minute, Alfred Tevreden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 8th minute of the match Bob Paauwe shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ate Kik showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jan Weinands stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Godfried van Driest's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Ate Kik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bob Paauwe, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Ate Kik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robin Lokin in the 14th minute of play. Oegstgeest's Jan Weinands played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Godfried van Driest in the 16th minute of play. Jan Weinands showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Godfried van Driest, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. After a rather tough play, Meliestraat SC's Tomas Overmars got a free kick in the 21st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Godfried van Driest in the 26th minute of play forced Oegstgeest's goalkeeper Jan Weinands to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute Hette Ploeger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ate Kik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Govert Koopmans kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Meliestraat SC's Jan-Willem Scholte got a free kick in the 30th minute. Meliestraat SC's Ate Kik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Govert Koopmans in the 32nd minute of play. When Godfried van Driest came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Meliestraat SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Godfried van Driest couldn't finish the play. Mitchell Dalmeijer kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After 47 minutes, Jonathan Schmidt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Oegstgeest and the Meliestraat SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Meliestraat SC booed when Oegstgeest was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Schmidt didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Robin Lokin was the one to do the kick off. Tomas Overmars kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Joost van der Leegte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Weinands having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Godfried van Driest in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jan Weinands saved Oegstgeest from getting behind. Ate Kik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Govert Koopmans in the 64th minute of play. In the 66th minute of the match, Govert Koopmans got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ate Kik was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Hendrik-Jan Haken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Godfried van Driest struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Jan Weinands didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Meliestraat SC. In the 80th minute, Oegstgeest's Hette Ploeger dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. In the 85thth minute of the game Godfried van Driest who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Oegstgeest's Jan Weinands was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Godfried van Driest fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Weinands having to interfere. In the 88th match minute, Oegstgeest was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Huub Timmer to maneuver through the defense. In the 90th minute, Govert Koopmans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 93rd minute, Govert Koopmans made a precise shot to the right of Ate Kik. Meliestraat SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2.
