After a rather tough play, Wolfsberg HC's Bill Ridder got a free kick in the 3rd minute. But to his dismay, Felix Hoogenkamp quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Felix Hoogenkamp kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 7thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Wolfsberg HC's keeper Roelof Palsma was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. In the 11th minute, Job Hebels ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dennis Koopmans was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Maersk Kampala were furious when Rogier Rodenboog was red carded, 18 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Rogier Rodenboog hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Roelof Palsma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Hoogenkamp in the 20th minute of the match. After 24 played minutes Maersk Kampala got a freekick which was hit by Menno Veltman. Dennis Koopmans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Job Hebels in the 26th minute of play. 28 minutes into the game, Chiel Rolink was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wolfsberg HC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Maersk Kampala the free kick. In the 28th match minute, Wolfsberg HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chiel Rolink to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Marco Dam from long distance, 28 minutes into the match, got Roelof Palsma's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Dennis Koopmans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gio Luirink in the 31st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felix Hoogenkamp got free with Roelof Palsma in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Felix Hoogenkamp might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Roelof Palsma. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felix Hoogenkamp ran back to his position shaking his head. 39 minutes into the match, Maersk Kampala's goal looked a bit too open when Leon Steelman came free, but Dennis Koopmans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Hendrik Scholten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Felix Hoogenkamp took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Roelof Palsma to make any attempt to save it. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Job Hebels to strike the kick off in the second half. When Maersk Kampala's Hendrik Scholten in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Wolfsberg HC's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Maersk Kampala getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Felix Hoogenkamp might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Roelof Palsma. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leon Steelman struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Dennis Koopmans didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wolfsberg HC. Dennis Koopmans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Job Hebels, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 93 minutes into the match, Maersk Kampala's goalkeeper Dennis Koopmans had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leon Steelman. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
