Ricky Saarloos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fabiën Zoolingen went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Ricky Saarloos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jouke Eschendaal, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fabiën Zoolingen in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricky Saarloos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabiën Zoolingen in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricky Saarloos saved Eppenhuizen from getting behind. Fabiën Zoolingen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricky Saarloos having to interfere. Ricky Saarloos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jouke Eschendaal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Ferdi Mosselveld fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Eppenhuizen's protests and gave Ferdi Mosselveld a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Eppenhuizen's Ferdi Mosselveld got a free kick in the 23rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jouke Eschendaal in the 26th minute of play forced Eppenhuizen's goalkeeper Ricky Saarloos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Oegstgeest Excelsior's Henk Haan got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 32nd minute, Jouke Eschendaal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Oegstgeest Excelsior fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 35th match minute, Eppenhuizen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ferdi Mosselveld to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th minute, Fabiën Zoolingen made a precise shot to the right of Ricky Saarloos. Eppenhuizen's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Fabiën Zoolingen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ricky Saarloos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabiën Zoolingen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlo Meulman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Through an outstanding action, after 52 minutes, Ricky Saarloos successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Ferdi Mosselveld kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Ferdi Mosselveld was shown his second yellow card after 58 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Eppenhuizen getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Ferdi Mosselveld hit a great ball. Fabiën Zoolingen struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Ricky Saarloos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oegstgeest Excelsior. 63 minutes into the match, Jouke Eschendaal dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ricky Saarloos, 0-5. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Jouke Eschendaal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oegstgeest Excelsior's supporters rose to their feet, but Jouke Eschendaal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricky Saarloos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 69th minute Jouke Eschendaal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricky Saarloos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 72 minutes into the game, Jan Wielaert was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Oegstgeest Excelsior's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eppenhuizen the free kick. After having played for 76 minutes, Fabiën Zoolingen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oegstgeest Excelsior's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabiën Zoolingen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jouke Eschendaal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricky Saarloos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. If Jouke Eschendaal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Jouke Eschendaal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ricky Saarloos was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. After having played for 84 minutes, Fabiën Zoolingen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oegstgeest Excelsior's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabiën Zoolingen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Oegstgeest Excelsior's Jouke Eschendaal slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ricky Saarloos. That made the score 0-6 after 86 minutes of play. Fabiën Zoolingen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Ricky Saarloos made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jouke Eschendaal in the 92nd minute of play forced Eppenhuizen's goalkeeper Ricky Saarloos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 93 minutes of play, Eppenhuizen's Tonnie de Zeeuw made it 1-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bob Paauwe was left in no man's land by his defense there! Oegstgeest Excelsior played a much better game than Eppenhuizen and deserved their victory. The Eppenhuizen players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
