After 8 played minutes Bijsterveld got a freekick which was hit by Maurice Jol. Edgard Mülder blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dirk Frankena having to make a save. Dirk Frankena didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marnix Deijkers went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Hesp in the 18th minute of play forced Bijsterveld's goalkeeper Dirk Frankena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the game, 1. FC Schwalbe's Kurt Zondervan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dirk Frankena made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. When 1. FC Schwalbe's Humberto Hesp in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bijsterveld's goalie prevented a goal. Humberto Hesp took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dirk Frankena. Dirk Frankena dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. In the 31st minute Edgard Mülder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dirk Frankena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Bijsterveld getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Jacob van den Bergh hit a great ball. In the 36thth minute of the game Humberto Hesp who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bijsterveld's Dirk Frankena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marnix Deijkers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Humberto Hesp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Edgard Mülder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dirk Frankena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kurt Zondervan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Humberto Hesp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurt Zondervan in the 54th minute of play forced Bijsterveld's goalkeeper Dirk Frankena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Bijsterveld's Sjaak Rieks got a free kick in the 55th minute. Dirk Frankena came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by 1. FC Schwalbe's Edgard Mülder. But to his dismay, Edgard Mülder quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. If Kurt Zondervan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 67 minutes into the match, Bijsterveld's goal looked a bit too open when Kurt Zondervan came free, but Dirk Frankena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dirk Frankena was out of position in the 72 minute of play, and Humberto Hesp capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Humberto Hesp really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. 78 minutes into the game, Arne Bouwman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-7. Dirk Frankena was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 84 minutes into the game, Kurt Zondervan recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dirk Frankena. Kurt Zondervan showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-8. 1. FC Schwalbe played a much better game than Bijsterveld and deserved their victory. The Bijsterveld players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
