Edward Otten started the match with the kick off. Edgard Mülder could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Alex Toolenaar made a huge save. 11 minutes into the match, Edgard Mülder had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alex Toolenaar. Burgh HC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edgard Mülder was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 13 minutes into the game, one of Burgh HC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Co Lange charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Co Lange the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Otten in the 19th minute of play forced 1. FC Schwalbe's goalkeeper Reinhard de Jong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alex Toolenaar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Hesp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alex Toolenaar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurt Zondervan, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 27th match minute, Burgh HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnold Koops to maneuver through the defense. Kurt Zondervan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Toolenaar having to interfere. In the 32nd match minute, Burgh HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Job Wieringh to maneuver through the defense. 38 minutes into the game, Edward Robben cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Reinhard de Jong was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Burgh HC's Willem Tamminga got a free kick in the 40th minute. The supporters of 1. FC Schwalbe booed when Burgh HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnold Koops didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Humberto Hesp made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Kurt Zondervan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alex Toolenaar was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Kurt Zondervan took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alex Toolenaar. Alex Toolenaar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Burgh HC's goalkeeper Alex Toolenaar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 73rd minute, Kurt Zondervan made a precise shot to the right of Alex Toolenaar. Burgh HC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-1. Joep van Gaal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Toolenaar having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, 1. FC Schwalbe's goalkeeper Reinhard de Jong had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edward Robben. 1. FC Schwalbe's Reinhard de Jong proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save 1. FC Schwalbe from getting a goal against them. Arnold Koops hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Kurt Zondervan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alex Toolenaar having to make a save. When the referee ended the match the 1. FC Schwalbe players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
