After a defensive mix-up in Delson FC's zone, Olaf Walstra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thomas Dirks came out of the goal and Olaf Walstra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henk-Jan Schuurmans in the 6th minute of play forced Delson FC's goalkeeper Thomas Dirks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thomas Dirks stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Henk-Jan Schuurmans's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. 8 minutes into the game, Olaf Walstra cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Thomas Dirks was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Remco de Cler scored 1-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of José Dias, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Delson FC's Thomas Dirks played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emil Teuben in the 15th minute of play. Delson FC were furious when Huib Dekens was red carded, 24 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After recieving a nice pass, Heideheim FC's Emil Teuben tried to score from far away in the 26th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Matijs Hensmans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes in the game Dolf Brouwers did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Emil Teuben. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marnix Schuiling during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thomas Dirks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henk-Jan Schuurmans, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Matijs Hensmans was the one to do the kick off. Delson FC's Thomas Dirks proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Delson FC from getting a goal against them. With his leg Thomas Dirks managed to avoid a goal in the 56thth minute, when Heideheim FC's Matijs Hensmans fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 60th minute Olaf Walstra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Dirks saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dolf Brouwers hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. 69 minutes into the game, Heideheim FC's Henk-Jan Schuurmans nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Thomas Dirks made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Dolf Brouwers made in the 72nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Delson FC's Taco Knopper. Thomas Dirks made an important save on a dangerous shot by Matijs Hensmans in the 79th minute. If Erik de Winter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute, Jan-Joost Harms hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thomas Dirks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olaf Walstra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matijs Hensmans's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 94thth minute, Thomas Dirks skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Matijs Hensmans was shown his second yellow card after 96 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Heideheim FC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Matijs Hensmans hit a great ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Heideheim FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
