After a rather tough play, De hijgende Hertjes's Wachirapong Pobedimskiy got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Freek Pinksterens short, quick shot in the 5thth minute got Huib Prins to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Antoon Weerd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Steen Müür tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benjamin Blommaart hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Huib Prins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carsten Zoetebier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Straat's Huib Prins got control of the ball when Freek Pinksteren tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Carsten Zoetebier's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Huib Prins was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind De hijgende Hertjes's goalkeeper Steen Müür, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Steen Müür showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mickael Velez in the 38th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antoon Weerd in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Steen Müür prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 48 minutes into the match, De hijgende Hertjes's goal looked a bit too open when Mickael Velez came free, but Steen Müür reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Freek Pinksteren managed to get in a good position for a shot. De hijgende Hertjes's supporters rose to their feet, but Freek Pinksteren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Huib Prins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Carsten Zoetebier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Straat booed when De hijgende Hertjes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dimitrie Iepmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Jan Wortelboer from long distance, 58 minutes into the match, got Steen Müür's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Steen Müür showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antoon Weerd in the 59th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Straat's Steen Müür threw himself towards the right post 63 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Antoon Weerd, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 64 played minutes Straat got a freekick which was hit by Jan Wortelboer. Huib Prins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freek Pinksteren in the 65th minute of play. When Antoon Weerd came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Straat fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antoon Weerd couldn't finish the play. Mickael Velez's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Steen Müür firmly grabbed it by the left post. Brain Bijlsma hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 90th minute, Jacco Aelbrecht hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Steen Müür made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antoon Weerd in the 92nd minute of play.
