Gentle Ds's Floris Valentijn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geert Arend Wehkamp in the 35th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Gentle Ds's goal looked a bit too open when Vincent Haremeijer came free, but Floris Valentijn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th minute, Vincent Haremeijer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Floris Valentijn was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 44th minute, Geert Arend Wehkamp left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Dejavu FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wouter de Zwaan was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Gentle Ds's zone, Robert Ronde stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Floris Valentijn came out of the goal and Robert Ronde tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Gentle Ds booed when Dejavu FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Douwe Ricksen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cobus Planting received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Floris Valentijn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gentle Ds's defense didn't have a chance, in the 84th minute, when Geert Arend Wehkamp scored to the left of an out of position Floris Valentijn, making the score, 0-4. Robert Ronde struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Floris Valentijn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dejavu FC. With an all-out effort, Dejavu FC's Floris Valentijn threw himself towards the right post 89 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Vincent Haremeijer, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After some careless play in the Gentle Ds defense, Robert Ronde kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Floris Valentijn. The Gentle Ds fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Floris Valentijn should have stopped the shot. The Gentle Ds fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Dejavu FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
