Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) Alwin Rolink started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 5th minute Boleslaw Pawlik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Rijkaard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rafael Rijkaard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alwin Rolink in the 6th minute of play. When Gerben Senden fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Bakbeest's protests and gave Gerben Senden a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FC Bakbeest getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Gerben Senden hit a great ball. 10 minutes into the match, FC Bakbeest's goal looked a bit too open when Alwin Rolink came free, but Rafael Rijkaard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alwin Rolink in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rafael Rijkaard saved FC Bakbeest from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Alwin Rolink's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rafael Rijkaard was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sebastiaan Tieman during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 20 played minutes FC Bakbeest got a freekick which was hit by Sebastiaan Tieman. In the 23rd minute, Boleslaw Pawlik left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The IJssel Boys FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When Folker Zoetebier came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the FC Bakbeest fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Folker Zoetebier couldn't finish the play. Rafael Rijkaard came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by IJssel Boys FC's Alwin Rolink. But to his dismay, Alwin Rolink quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Radomir Podolski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

In the 54th minute, Arjan van Zijp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Folker Zoetebier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to FC Bakbeest getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Emiel van Kampen hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in FC Bakbeest's zone, Radomir Podolski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafael Rijkaard came out of the goal and Radomir Podolski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 69 minutes of play, IJssel Boys FC's Alwin Rolink made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rafael Rijkaard was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 78th minute there was a penalty for FC Bakbeest. Folker Zoetebier stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Victoriano Gormaz. 1-3. A collision led to FC Bakbeest getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Folker Zoetebier hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, FC Bakbeest's Emiel van Kampen got a free kick in the 91st minute. Rafael Rijkaard made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alwin Rolink in the 96th minute. Victoriano Gormaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Folker Zoetebier, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. IJssel Boys FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
