The throw-in from Pieter Ponk in the 9th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by IJssel Boys FC's Radomir Podolski. Lukas Kamps was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 16 minutes into the match. 15 minutes into the game, one of IJssel Boys FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 18 minutes into the game, Oranjú FC's Coos Collins nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Victoriano Gormaz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Victor Gronden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Victoriano Gormaz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, IJssel Boys FC's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Gronden came free, but Victoriano Gormaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jelle Ijspol hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Pieter Ponk kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Arjan van Zijp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emile Heck struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Nick Need didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for IJssel Boys FC. Tjeerd Sleiffer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mickael van Zeggeren in the 41st minute of play forced IJssel Boys FC's goalkeeper Victoriano Gormaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute of the match, Arjan van Zijp tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Nick Need saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Victor Gronden to make the kick off. Arjan van Zijp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nick Need having to interfere. A collision led to IJssel Boys FC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Boleslaw Pawlik hit a great ball. After 61 played minutes Victor Gronden rounded IJssel Boys FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-3. If Tjeerd Sleiffer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mickael van Zeggeren in the 68th minute of play forced IJssel Boys FC's goalkeeper Victoriano Gormaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nick Need made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arjan van Zijp in the 72nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Oranjú FC defense, Emile Heck kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nick Need. The Oranjú FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nick Need should have stopped the shot. After 79 minutes of play, IJssel Boys FC's Tjeerd Sleiffer made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nick Need was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 83 minutes, Daniël van Zijp mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Oranjú FC and the IJssel Boys FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Daniël van Zijp hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. When Daniël van Zijp came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Oranjú FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniël van Zijp couldn't finish the play. Oranjú FC's Nick Need played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arjan van Zijp in the 91st minute of play. Emile Heck struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Nick Need didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for IJssel Boys FC. After 93 played minutes IJssel Boys FC got a freekick which was hit by Jurre Schipper. A collision led to Oranjú FC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Daniël van Zijp hit a great ball. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see IJssel Boys FC lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
