The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Emil van Wonderen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorn Kip fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marick Staarman having to interfere. If Gert Schoonderwoerd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Sellingen getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Arie Siebum hit a great ball. FC Beachelona's Rogier Vrieze couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 11th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Sellingen. After some careless play in the Sellingen defense, Henk Kristoffers kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Andy Franssen. The Sellingen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Andy Franssen should have stopped the shot. FC Beachelona's Marick Staarman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorn Kip in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Sellingen's Jorn Kip sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marick Staarman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Emil van Wonderen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd match minute, FC Beachelona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Peter Neijsen to maneuver through the defense. Jacob Eylens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jacob Eylens struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Marick Staarman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sellingen. After having played for 28 minutes, Gert Schoonderwoerd managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sellingen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gert Schoonderwoerd was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jorn Kip fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marick Staarman having to interfere. Andy Franssen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teo van der Saar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Gert Schoonderwoerd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 43 minutes into the match, Sellingen's goal looked a bit too open when Teo van der Saar came free, but Andy Franssen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gert Schoonderwoerd could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Marick Staarman made a huge save. In the 48th match minute, FC Beachelona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reinier Klasens to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The wind increased when Emil van Wonderen made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Sellingen booed when FC Beachelona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steven Post didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marick Staarman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacob Eylens in the 56th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reinier Klasens got free with Andy Franssen in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 59 minutes into the game, Jacob Eylens cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Marick Staarman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Andy Franssen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henk Kristoffers in the 63rd minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, Henk Kristoffers dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Andy Franssen, 1-2. With a little luck, Sellingen's Andy Franssen got control of the ball when Reinier Klasens tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sellingen's Jorn Kip got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in FC Beachelona's zone, Emil van Wonderen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marick Staarman came out of the goal and Emil van Wonderen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Andy Franssen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henk Kristoffers in the 84th minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Sellingen's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Haan came free, but Andy Franssen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Andy Franssen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jos Baaijen in the 87th minute. Marick Staarman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christiaan Waard in the 91st minute of the match. Gert Schoonderwoerd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Marick Staarman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 98th minute, Jan Haan made a precise shot to the right of Andy Franssen. Sellingen's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC Beachelona eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
