Spectators: 7956 (Terracing: 5968, Seating: 1830, VIP seats: 158) 6 minutes into the match, Demy Brunt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alwin Baatenburg. PSV Eindhoven's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Demy Brunt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 9th minute, Theo Tevreden got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alwin Baatenburg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan Willemsen in the 11th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, PSV Eindhoven's Elmar Berends got a free kick in the 14th minute. Demy Brunt took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 15th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alwin Baatenburg. PSV Eindhoven's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Demy Brunt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alwin Baatenburg came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Brunsting's Demy Brunt. But to his dismay, Demy Brunt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. If Jan Willemsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alwin Baatenburg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Demy Brunt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Brunsting getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Frans Nijemanting hit a great ball. PSV Eindhoven's Ton Staarman got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Theo Tevreden stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Ton Staarman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Brunsting's Jan Willemsen slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alwin Baatenburg. That made the score 0-3 after 63 minutes of play. In the 70thth minute of the game Theo Tevreden who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brunsting's Kurt Harmsen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Jan Willemsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brunsting's goalkeeper Kurt Harmsen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jan Willemsen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alwin Baatenburg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. A collision led to PSV Eindhoven getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Adriaan van Steensel hit a great ball. The PSV Eindhoven manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Brunsting to win.
